The Castle Hotel & Spa
Just 25 miles North of New York City lies an historic medieval castle, over-looking the majestic Hudson River. The Castle at Tarrytown, situated on 10 acres at the top of a hill, formerly called Carrollcliffe and late Axe Castle, was built in two stages between 1900 and 1910 by General Howard Carroll, the son of a Civil War General.
Designed by noted New York architect Henry Kilburn, the fortress-like structure was built entirely from stone quarried at its site. The main tower of the Castle rises 75 feet, making it the highest point in Westchester County.
The Castle has changed very little in its 113 years. Much of the original interior woodwork and furnishings, which were built by a team of carpenters brought from Germany, still remain intact.
The main dancing will take place in The Grand Room with its 40 foot vaulted ceiling, beautiful stained glass windows with heraldic motifs, and musicians’ balcony.

In all memorable Halloween gatherings, a captivating theme ensues... and ours revolves around the realm of legends. We cordially invite you to personify the essence of your cherished legend, be it local folklore such as the infamous Headless Horseman, an iconic figure like Ms. Marilyn Monroe, the enigmatic Bigfoot, the formidable Teddy Roosevelt, or even the iconic Britney Spears - all of them reputable legends in their own unique way.
As an exciting addition to the festivities, we will be hosting an enchanting costume contest aligned with our legendary theme. Come prepared to showcase your creativity and ingenuity in portraying your chosen legend, and stand a chance to win fabulous prizes and accolades.
Feel free to embrace our costume theme or unleash your creativity with your own unique twist. Just remember, it's an absolute must to arrive in costume.
